Nigeria cannot afford to make mistake in 2023, says Sanwo-Olu *Tasks parents to live by example in training their children

 Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, said that Nigerians must chose rightly in 2023 because it is about the future of Nigeria.

 The governor stated that like many have said that the outcome of 2023 will greatly determine the future of Nigeria, reason its citizens cannot afford to make a mistake in chosing who to lead the country come 2013.

 Speaking, yesterday, at the year 2022 Eidul-adha celebration by the first family of Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, said Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the right choice for 2013 because he had built bridges across Nigeria.

He added that Tinubu has worked with persons from the different regions and ethnic groups in the country, noting that he looks out for quality people to work with.

 He called on residents to be loyal and obedient to the state and country, stating that patience, obedience and loyalty are important duties the citizens owe the state.

  According to him, parents must train their wards in a godly manner and instill in them morals to be obedient loyal and patient.

On her part, the first Lady of Lagos state, Dr Ibijoke Claudiana Sanwo-Olu noted that the spiritual exercise being celebrated annually exemplifies the virtue of love, faith and obedience.

Sanwo-Olu underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence, noting that Lagos state is growing in bounds due to peaceful coexistence of various faiths in the state.

 She encouraged residents to continue to pray for peace in the country, live with the fear of God and love one another.

She maintained that the love virtues must reflect in their relationships with people they relate and associate with.

 She advised parents to live and lead by example for their children to emulate. She also enjoined them to their children about having absolute faith and fear of God.

 There were prayers for the Governor and his family, the deputy governor, the legislative, judiciary, civil servants among others.

There was also a lecture on 'the family of prophet Ibraaheem: A model for true believers' families'. In the lecture by the representative of Chief Missioner, Rahmat Islamiyyah Society of Nigeria, the participants were implored to emulate prophet Muhammad who prayed for his child to be a discipline and God fearing child before he was born and continued to sought God's grace upon his life. 

  The preacher said the child turned out well because his parents continually beseech God for him to be an outstanding child.
