SOMOLU LG CHAIRMAN 'DULLAR' GLADDENS THE HEARTS OF ELDERLY PEOPLE, RELIGIOUS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS

The Sallah rain during the Eid Adha celebration in Somolu Local Government area went beyond the heavy downpour from the sky, as the compassionate Council Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, as he showered raw food stuffs and livestock on the people of his area.

Globally known as "Feast of the Sacrifice", the celebration started on the eve of the Eid festival, which is also Arafat Day, as the Council Chairman held the monthly welfare package for the elderly people in celebration of the Sallah. Raw food stuffs were distributed to over 1,500 elderly people in the area.

The cheerful giver Council Chairman also distributed livestocks like Cows and Rams to APC Party Faithfuls, Council Legislators, Supervisors as well as Aides and the Council's Management teams.

The Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led-administration of Somolu Local Government did not stop at that, the Somolu Muslims Community Imams were full of praises as Rams were also sent to them to celebrate and share amongst their neighbours and family. Community leaders and royal fathers also benefited from the Sallah's "showers of blessings" in Somolu.

While congratulating Muslims in Somolu on the Sallah day, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu said Muslims should learn from the dedication and commitment of Prophet Abraham who kept his promise of sacrifice to Allah and that Allah did not forsake him because he did not replace his son, hoping to deceive Allah but rather, Allah SWT substituted his son with a Ram, because indeed he was ready and truthful with his promise of using his son as a Sacrifice for Allah.

Furthermore, he opined that whoever keeps promise and sacrifice for the sake of Allah, will never be forgotten or forsaken by Allah. He added that the spirit of sharing should be imbibed by all, irrespective of their status
