With less than a week to the inauguration of a new government on May 29, Kehinde Oshliaja Foundation on Monday congratulated the entire citizens of this country for their resilience and patriotism, especially the people living with disabilities, for their perseverance, ruggedness, especially towards the end of this Buhari's administration.
According to the convener, "while we await and watch keenly the development of the tribunal on various election petitions, we, members of the people living with disabilities would not fold our hands but voice out our experience on the affairs of this country, especially under the outgoing administration which bothers insecurity, poverty and hunger, health and education deficiency.The foundation condemned the act in his entirety",
The Convener of the Foundation, Comrade Kehinde Oshilaja, stated these in his address delivered during its monthly interactive session with journalists at the headquarters of the foundation at Ebute-Metta, Lagos on Monday.
While congratulating the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the incoming governors, and members of the 10th National Assembly, he said they should seek ways of re-uniting all the different ethnic groups in the country and make it a matter of importance to prioritize welfare of all people living with disabilities in the country.
According to him, after unity and re-unity of the entire country, the President-elect and the entire governors should employ due diligence to the security of lives and property, poverty and hunger, health and proffer lasting legacy in educational sector of the entire Nigerians
"Let the new administration by all standards enable the citizenry have a relief and forget what the country witness and still witnessing inform of insecurity, kidnapping here and there, fear of attacks even during daylights, including stigmatisation of people living with disabilities among others", Oshilaja said.
He called on the new administration to ensure that education of our children at all levels is given top priority, as this is the best legacy our country can bequeath to her youth. The government should improve the healthcare delivery system, so that the current medical tourism among top government functionaries and privileged few can be completely eradicated or reduced.
