Tafa Sego, The New Face of Lagos NURTW

By Cornelius Kayode

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos state has been known to be a union of hard guys, who continue to terrorize drivers and motorists across the state since it's formation

The union, which was formed by leaders of the defunct National Party of Nigeria(NPN),in the second republic to rival the major transport union then, the Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), has grown to be notorious especially as willing tool in the hands of politicians

From the time of Adebayo Ogundare, aka "Bayo Success", to the outgoing MC oluomo, it's the same story of high-handedness, forceful collection of tolls, instead of union dues in their respective offices

Without calling a spade another name, Lagosians loath them for their act of brigandage and lawlessness on the road, which has led to death and permanent disabilities on the part of some motorists, passengers and onlookers.

However, with the new leadership of Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio aka "Tafa Sego", it is assumed in so many quarters that his humility, kindness, incredible administrative prowess and commitment to his followers will ultimately guide him in restoring the lost glory of the once vibrant transport union

Testifying to this, a top Lagosian and an Elder stateman, Alhaji Rasaq Akanni Adeyiga,  says, "without doubt,we have just gotten a chairman that understands the job, he is amiable, friendly, tolerant and very kind. The union will become more packaged and adorable for service delivery.  Enough of NURTW of gangster. Our union will not forget it's members, especially those who died fighting for us, those who died in active service for the union and others. I know Alhaji Sego knows where the show pinches and I wish him well, " Alhaji Adeyiga says

All other Lagosians that spoke under anonymity put their weight solidly behind the new leadership of the NURTW, declaring unanimously that  "All eyes on the new leadership of the union in Lagos to deliver on his campaign promises as Tafa Sego takes over  the new face of Lagos as far as transport union is concerned", they said..
