Shelve protests plans due to distractive, destructive tendencies, Ogedengbe appeals to Nigerians

 

Amidst uncertainties over the nationwide hunger protest planned for 1st to 10th of August,  

The General Overseer of Overcomers Prayer Assembly, Rev. Dr. Sam Ogedengbe, on Wednesday appealed to Nigerians to seek divine intervention in the country's affairs, instead of resorting to protests that may lead to distractions and destruction.

Speaking at the church's headquarters in Abule-Egba, Lagos, Ogedengbe urged citizens to turn to God in fervent prayers instead of resorting to protests that may lead to distractions and destruction.

The cleric's call comes amid plans for a nationwide protest by youths, who are frustrated with the country's economic and social challenges. However, Ogedengbe believes that prayer can bring about positive change and guidance for the nation's leaders.

"We need to pray for our country, especially our leaders.  This is the time we need to seek God's face, and He will intervene in our situation. We must pray for wisdom, guidance, and direction for our leaders, so they can make decisions that benefit the nation."

The renowned preacher  encouraged citizens to channel their energies towards meaningful activities that promote national growth and development. He also advised youths to change their minds and focus on constructive engagement, rather than destructive protests.

"Instead of protesting, let us organise prayer rallies, prayer walks, and fasting sessions," Ogedengbe suggested. Let us come together as a nation and cry out to God for mercy, forgiveness, and restoration."

The cleric's appeal also resonated with many Nigerians, who are seeking a more peaceful and effective way to address the country's challenges. As the nation grapples with various issues, Ogedengbe's call to prayer offers a message of hope and unity.

"We are not just praying for the government, we are praying for ourselves, our families, and our communities," Ogedengbe emphasised. "We are praying for a better Nigeria, where everyone can live in peace, prosperity, and harmony."
