Major roads in various parts of Lagos are deserted with a few people and vehicles.

Some markets do not open for business.

Shops in markets in Iyana Ipaja, Agege, Ogba and Ikeja are under lock, and most stalls have no wares on them with sellers unavailable.

Commercial vehicles including motorcycles are also few on the road.

Many corporate organisations, especially banks and filling stations do not open for business in Iyana Ipaja, Agege, Ogba and Ikeja.

In Agege, some youths gather at some junctions to drink and talk, while others play football on the empty streets.

There is also high security presence on the roads.

At Moshalashi on the intersection of the Iyana Ipaja-Egbeda Road and Ipaja Road, more than a dozen police officers sat bearing arms.

Also, police presence is visible at the Iyana Ipaja roundabout where an armoured tank was also stationed.

Around Ikeja Secretariat, there is more than the usual police presence
