The publisher of a book dedicated to the memory of the 42nd Olubadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Olalekan Mohood Balogun, Dr Layo Adeniyi and some members of the late monarch’s family have postponed the launch of the book to honour the Otun Olubadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja over his wife’s death, Tinuade Ladoja.

The book, Life and Times of 42nd Olubadan, Dr Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade ll, was billed to be launched on October 22nd, 2024, at the Civil Centre, Ibadan, but it had to be postponed to honour Senator Rashidi Ladoja, who was the Chairman of the occasion.

The publisher and some members of the monarch’s family, including Princess Olayinka Balogun, Prince Sulaiman Balogun, Oba Yinka Ayedun, and others, agreed to honour the Otun Olubadan, Senator Ladoja.

They said that apart from being a referred High Chief in Olubadan-in-Council, Senator Ladoja was a closed ally of the late monarch.

Speaking with journalists on Tuesday in Ibadan, the publisher of the book, Dr Layo Adeniyi together with some family members of the monarch, said the book launch will now take place on the 13th of March, 2025 to mark one year remembrance anniversary of the late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun.

Adeniyi said, “We have to postpone the book launch in memory of late Olubadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Olalekan Mohood Balogun to honour the Otun Olubadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, who was the Chairman of the event, over the death of his.

“Senator Ladoja is a referred High Chief in Olubadan-in-Council and a closed ally of the late Olubadan, whose book is written on his life and times as 42nd Olubadan.

“We have agreed to reschedule the launch to March 13th, 2025 to mark one year remembrance of the late monarch, Oba Olalekan Mohood Balogun”.
