Lagos organises workshop on emergency response for hospitality sector.

Lagos Safety Commission in conjunction with Help Station has organized a one day intensive training/workshop on emergency response for hospitality sector across the state. 

The Director General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr  Lanre Mojola, disclosed at the event that emergencies and trauma can strike without warning but being adequately prepared can make all the difference in saving lives. 

Mojola, who was represented at the event by the Head, Events and Hospitality, Mrs.Olubunmi Jegede, also emphasized that the workshop was channelled towards promoting prompt safety and emergency response in the hospitality industry, because according to him "This is a critical sector that contributes significantly to the economy of Lagos State, and it's essential that we prioritize the safety and well-being of the  staff, guests contractors and even the employer"

"As we all know, emergencies can occur at any time, and it's crucial that we're prepared to respond effectively. The Lagos State Safety Commission in conjunction with HELP STATION is committed to ensuring that all establishments in the state, including those in the hospitality sector, have the necessary measures in place to prevent and respond to emergencies", he said.

Mojola also delved further that the primary purpose of first aid is to provide immediate care and treatment for individuals who have been injured or suddenly took ill.

"Overall, the purpose of this workshop is  to provide timely and effective care to individuals in need, with the ultimate goal of preserving life, preventing further harm, and promoting recovery.

The Lagos State Safety Commission is committed to supporting the hospitality industry in Lagos State to ensure that all establishments are safe and compliant with relevant health and safety regulations. We'll continue to work closely with you to promote a culture of safety and responsibility", Mojola said 

In her remark, the the Chief Operating Officer of Health Station, Dr. Yewande Alebiosu, also emphasized that emergencies and trauma can strike without warning but said being prepared can make all the difference in saving lives, hence "the intervention of our organization in partnering with Lagos State Safety Commission about the critical needs for emergency preparedness and trauma care in our communities all over the state"

Dr. Alebiosu said Health station is all out to ensure that nobody one is even left helpless, but to provide adequate virtual hospital that provides affordable and optimal health care to everyone and indeed ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all  ages. 

Also, Engr. Babajide Adepoju, from Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, was on ground to provide insightful on  solutions and prevention of fire, the risks and possible ways out. 

Practical sections with illustrations also displayed at the event with participants asking various questions about their health and possible ways of averting the emergencies

Attendance include workers and owners of hospitality industries across the nooks and crannies of Lagos State.
