Sanwo-Olu's wife admonishes intending pilgrims to conduct themselves as good ambassadors of Christ

The wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has admonished the intending pilgrims to conduct themselves as good ambassadors of Christ and the State in words and deeds. 

The First Lady who stated this at the “Service of Dedication for 2024 Pilgrimage Exercise”, organised by the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB).

She noted that the theme of the dedication service “Let Us Go and See” is apt as the importance of the pilgrimage exercise to draw pilgrims closer to God and strengthen their faith.

The First Lady, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters (Christian), Reverend Bukola Adeleke enjoined the intending pilgrims to see the pilgrimage exercise as a time for spiritual rejuvenation and uplifting of their faith.

Sanwo-Olu who urged the pilgrims to use the exercise to pray for the peace of the State and Country, said the State government recognised the initiative and support the well being of the people.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rt Reverend Stephen Adegbite offered prayers for safe journey while urging the pilgrims to be worthy ambassadors. 

Adegbite advised the pilgrims to be focus, bond and unite as a team, stressing that their togetherness is essential in achieving a lot on the journey.

He enjoined the pilgrims to be very prayerful in order to have an encounter with the Lord and solidify their faith in Christ, while imploring them to obey the laws of the holy lands, instructions of their tour guide and be of good conduct during the pilgrimage exercise. 

The Board Secretary, LSCPWB, Yetunde Gbafe urged the pilgrims to continue in intercessory prayers even after the pilgrimage exercise while emphasising the need for them to concentrate more on these days' spiritual aspect of the exercise than the social.

Gbafe who commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support, encouraged the intending pilgrims to be their brothers’ keeper, good ambassadors and participate fully in the pilgrimage exercise.

"Let me also encourage all our intending pilgrims to be their brothers’ keeper, and be good ambassadors. Ensure you participate fully in the pilgrimage exercise", Gbafe said.
