Yoruba Tennis Club presents cheques to Lagos orphanages

The first indigenous club in Lagos, Yoruba Tennis Club, has presented cheques to orphanages and motherless homes in the state.

The Chairman of the club, Olakunle Agbebi, SAN, said the cheques were part of the funds often generated and donated by members of the club.He said the donation had become a yearly routine.  

Agbebi said: “The donation of cheques to homes is beyond corporate social responsibility, but it’s a matter of caring, taking care of those that cannot take care of themselves, especially during this festive period. 

“Some of these homes are Ile-Anu Olu Pre-school for Physically Challenged, Surulere, Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Impaired Children, Surulere and SOS Village, Isolo.Home"

He said the club had visited vulnerable homes in Lagos as well as orphanages to present cheques to them. 

Agbebi said the token presented annually to all the social clubs which are not less than 26 was drawn from the Beneficial Funds always donated by members of the club through the year

"The club had projects it carried out every year, to assist the vulnerable and the needy, adding that it had itemised more than 26 homes and orphanages for the presentation. 

He applaud members of the club for their generous donation out of their had earned stipends, while praying for more God's continuous on them all. 

The representatives of each schools visited, thanked the club and expressed satisfaction about the cheque presentation to the home.

They assured the donor that the donations would enhance the educational resources and facilities for the kids.

The Program Manager, SOS Village, Mrs Achebe Chinelu Stella, who spoke on behalf of the the villages and homes visited,  thanked the club and expressed satisfaction about the cheque presentation to the home.

She assured the donor that the donations would be judiciously used for the children
