In a heartwarming display of unity and tradition, prominent members of the Abibu Shoderu Royal Family gathered over the weekend for a special prayer session, seeking peace and tranquility for Oriba Town in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The event, which took place at the town's designated social and spiritual site, brought together sons, daughters, grandchildren, family, friends, and associates of the Abibu Shoderu Royal Family, marking a rare reunion after many years.
Speaking with journalists after the prayer session, the Olori Ebis of the family, Mr. Billy Rufai Noibi, Alhaji Sefiu Tukuru, Mrs A.T. Ajani and Taoheed Sanni, who spoke separately with journalists after the event, revealed that the Abibu Shoderu Royal Family has taken it upon themselves to organize annual prayers for the town's peace and tranquility.
"As one of the three lineages in Oriba Town, we feel a deep sense of responsibility to honor our forefathers and ensure their legacy endures," jointly said.
The Heads of the family emphasized that this prayer session serves as a reminder to all family members, particularly those who have not been part of the tradition, to join in and strengthen their bonds with one another and with the community.
According to them"There is no road network and there is need for development in the community to make the place livable for both the bonafide owners and the guests.
We also need government intervention to boost the economic development, growth and means of ameliorating lives of the inhabitants of the community.
However, we wish to put it on record that Abibu Shoderu was the first settler in ORIBA Town and we were known for fishing and Farming activities in those days.
There is no other work in the community except for fishing and Farming and therefore call on Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to come to our aid, the family said.
The event was a testament to the family's commitment to their heritage and their desire to promote harmony and unity in Oriba Town.
As the Abibu Shoderu Royal Family continues to uphold this tradition, they remain a shining example of the importance of family, community, and prayer.
