Dokunmu-Adegbite takes charge as Permanent Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education

Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite has taken charge as the new Permanent Secretary of the Basic and Secondary Education Ministry in Lagos State. This development was announced in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs unit of the Ministry, Kayode Sutton ¹.

A seasoned administrator with over 25 years of experience in the Lagos State Public Service, Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. Her illustrious career has seen her serve in various strategic leadership positions across different Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) 

Born on December 7, 1972, in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite has an impressive educational background. She began her educational journey at Fountain Nursery & Primary School, Surulere, and later attended the Federal Government Girls’ College, Akure. She earned a Bachelor's degree in English Education from Lagos State University (LASU) in 1995, followed by a Master's degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos in 2004, and another Master's degree in International Human Resource Management from the Rome Business School, Lagos, in 2024 ¹.

Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite's exceptional service has earned her numerous recognitions, including her appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Public Service by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in November 2024 ¹ ² ³. She is also a Fellow of several prestigious organizations, including the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Association of Human Resource Practitioners of Nigeria (AHR), Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN), and Association of Corporate Governance Professionals Nigeria (CGPN) ¹.
